The T-Turn by Thundermist Lure Company

    Author: Brad Wiegmann |

T-Turn three way swivel by Thundermist Lure Company-part of the Perfect SeriesTerminal tackle is often overlooked by anglers. Hooks, swivels, sinkers, and floats just don’t get the respect they should. Most anglers think that terminal tackle is boring. One hook is the same as another hook or swivels just are all the alike. These anglers are often the ones that lose fish because their terminal tackle breaks or cannot get a good hook set with cheaper, inferior tackle. Three way swivels like the T-Turn by Thundermist Lure Company are often a key element in rigging for a number of techniques.

A three way swivel is different from a standard swivel because it has three places to attach line to while a standard swivel only has two. “A three way swivel is often referred to as a cross line or three by three swivel and has many advantages over a two way swivel,” said Ivo Coia, CEO of Thundermist Lure Company (www.thundermistlurecompany.com). A three way swivel can be used in a number of techniques including drifting near the bottom, trolling, casting from shore, boat, or bottom bouncing utilizing it in fresh or saltwater. They can also be used to present live bait when ice fishing. “The key advantage to using the T-Turn swivel when fishing is it allows you to fish completely maintenance free. You can toss your lure out; you can drop it straight down; fish it in a tide or current and every time you bring your line in you don’t have to worry about your line tangling; what happens is you get a 360-degree revolution with your T-Turn spinning the twist or tangles away,” explained Coia. The typical setup for using a three way swivel is to have a main line going to one end then a dropper line to a sinker and the other line going to your lure or bait.

The T-Turn 3-way swivels are available in three sizes including small at 35-pound capacity, medium at 55-pound capacity, and large at 85-pound capacity. The rating capacity of a swivel is similar to how fishing line is rated by line strength. All of the T-Turn Series of 3-way swivel contain three high quality, smooth performing, rolling swivels to minimize line twist and maximize lure or bait action. The T-Turn 3 way swivel comes in black nickel finish to camouflage its presence, can be used in fresh or saltwater, and is part of the Perfect Series by Thundermist Lure Company.

Don’t overlook terminal tackle just because it’s not as glamorous as your lures or hard to catch like live bait. Terminal tackle is a key part of your success on any fishing trip.
