Quantum Accurist PTi Not Just Another Pretty Spinning Reel

    Author: Brad Wiegmann |

Quantum Accurist PTi Spinning ReelSome reels just look good. Like the new Ford Mustang GT with its sleek, tight curves that wrap around the body flowing forward. Not only does it have that great retro shape, but a powerful V8 that generates incredible power and acceleration in seconds. The Quantum Accurist PTi spinning reel is similar to the Ford Mustang GT. Both are built with quality materials and attention to details. For anglers, the Quantum Accurist PTi spinning reel has many of the features that expensive spinning reels boast, but without the price tag; in addition to having that old school look like a traditional spinning reel, but with a simplistic new school high-polished chrome finish.

Looks aren’t everything especially in fishing reels and sometimes stats and specs can be misleading. The important part is how it performs out on the water. “The Quantum Accurist PTi spinning reel was designed to be durable yet performs like many of the higher priced spinning reels available. It all begins with the high quality bearings we put in the reel. The Quantum Accurist PTi has 9+1 stainless steel bearings. It also has a lightweight graphite body which includes a one piece rigid metal alloy side cover. Something else we included in the Accurist spinning reel was a multi-stacked ceramic drag system which allows for a smoother break away when a fish pulls on it; in addition to cutting down chatter or bumpy drag. By chatter or a bumpy drag I mean a drag that does not pull out smooth and a smooth drag is vital when fishing with light weight fishing line. Another feature the Accurist has is a titanium bail wire that’s to increase the durability,” said Joe Davis, Quantum fishing engineer and head of the Quantum’s R&D LaboratoQuantum Accurist PTi Spinning Reel Multi-stack ceramic drag systemry.

The great thing about the Quantum Accurist PTi spinning reel (www.quantumfishing.com) is it has all the features any angler would want in a reel without the higher price tag those reels have. It’s not just another pretty spinning reel. The Quantum Accurist PTi spinning reel comes in 3 models. The smallest is the Quantum Accurist PTi model AC10PTI that can handle 125 yards of 4-pound test. It has a 5.3:1 gear ratio and brings in 22-inches every turn of the handle. The reel only weighs 8.4-ounces and has 7+1 bearings with a maximum drag setting of 8 pounds. The next size up is the Quantum Accurist PTi model AC20PTI that can handle 140 yards of 6-pound test. It has a 5.2:1 gear ratio and brings in 25-inches every turn of the handle. The reel weighs 10.7-ounces and has 7+1 bearings with a maximum drag setting of 16 pounds. The largest is the Quantum Accurist PTi model AC30PTI that can handle 160 years of 8-pound test. It has a 5.2:1 gear ratio and brings in 26-inches every turn of the handle. The reel weighs 12.6-ounces and has 7+1 bearings with an impressive maximum drag setting of 18 pounds.
