Every year ICAST, the fishing tackle industry’s largest tradeshow in the world, show cases the news products available to anglers.  Often, products will be revised versions of original lures or products.  This year there seems to be more innovative, news products for companies just starting out with new products than ever before in the Showcase.

One company with their new product just coming out is Rod Oar Paddle.  The owner and inventor, Andy Sackett, has spent over a year working on his new product Rod Oar Paddle.  “My idea for the product started after my wife bought me a kayak for Christmas,” said Sackett.  "Changing from using a paddle to maneuver around, back to a fishing pole was awkward and inconvenient,”  Sackett continued, “So, one day I went home and modified a paddle to a fishing rod, that finished product today is the Rod Oar Paddle".  The Rod Oar Paddle simply connects to any fishing rod and can be used in fresh or saltwater. What a great idea! No more having to switch hands to maneuver your canoe or kayak while fishing. 


This is only one of the products that media will be judging in the New Product Showcase.  Winning products will be announced on July 15, at the Chairman’s Reception.
