Adjusting the Lowrance HDS Window Choices and Resizing the HDS window screen

    Author: Doc Sonar |

    Lowrance HDS

Lowrance HDS units have difference choices of views which can be adjusted using the PAGES button. You can select the most common choice of sonar and chart or select from the many choices.
The choices are different for the different screens of the Lowrance HDS 5, 7, 8, and 10 because four windows on the 5-inch screen doesn’t work well.

Press the PAGES button and use the ARROW button to select your choice and press ENTER to see the screen. You will notice your choice will have a preview in the upper left corner.

If you wanted the sonar on the right side you can select sonar from the chart page.
    HDS Lowrance
The Lowrance HDS 4.0 software allows personal setting of the shortcut buttons on the pages selection if you have the Lowrance HDS 8 and 10 models. After you select your choice for pages you press and hold the shortcut button and that button will give you a shortcut to that selection.

You can also resize the windows to your preference.
One example is to have the chart window larger when navigating since the chart is more important than the history on the sonar pages.

    HDS Lowrance

Since boat electronics are mini-computers we can use their software to customize our electronics. As always I suggest putting the time into learning your Lowrance HDS at home since it has many useful features and you will not have the patience to practice and learn when you are fishing.
