Have you ever casted a beast of swimbaits out on your local lake? I mean a swimbait that seeks out bass to hook. A swimbait that catches fish anywhere you go, any time, any lake. Of course it would have to have to be about 4-inches long and have the profile of an adult threadfin shad; in addition to having 3-D eyes, premium hooks and one awesome realistic paint job. Not only that, but have lifelike action that would attract bass. That beast of a lure would be the ABT Shad Swimbait.
The great thing about high quality, hard bodied swimbaits is they last longer than soft bodied swimbaits and if built correctly will track out of the package true without any tuning. Durability is important when you are paying a premium for swimbaits and its nice when they last longer than one fish; durability aside, anglers want lures that catch fish. The ABT Shad Swimbait (www.abtlures.com) does just that. It has been proven to catch bass by some of the top Bassmaster Elite and FLW anglers. Now, I am going to let you in on a little secret. The same lure designer that built the ABT Shad Swimbait has built some of the baits sold by a major lure company, but marketed under their brand and sold hundreds of them. That lure designers name is Allen Borden. Borden has been designing lures for a number of years and enjoys the challenge of producing a lure that catches fish. “The ABT Shad Swimbait took over a year to design and build. There were several challenges to building the ABT Shad Swimbait. First was to make it so the swimbait could be retrieved at all speeds, especially fast. The next challenge was to keep it from rolling over since most fish will not bite a swimbait if it rolls over when retrieved. The last challenge was to balance it perfectly so the bait would run right,” explained Borden. Another bonus to using the ABA Shad Swimbait is they run straight and true right out of the package, no tuning is required. Obviously, Borden got it right since anglers have been catching fish on them from the west coast to the east coast.
The ABT Shad Swimbait was designed to be fished in a number of different situations; although it excels in shallow water conditions or when the fish are looking up. The main factor in how it is retrieved depends on the time of year or water temperature. “The Shad Swimbait is basically a reaction strike type bait. I fish it around structure, cover, and in the flats. It runs around 4 to 5-feet deep depending on the line type and size. Some days you cannot reel it in fast enough,” said Borden. Borden usually uses a stop and go, stop and go retrieve or waking it right under the water’s surface. “I like to use an erratic retrieve; it seems to catch more fish,” noted Borden.

Right now tackle stores are packed with lures and a number of them are hard bodied swimbaits. Only one of them is the beast among those swimbaits that has been proven to catch fish. The ABT Shad Swimbait is ready to fish right out of the package. Are you ready to catch some fish? Can you handle catching big bass? Then put one on the end of your line and start casting.
