Unbelievable Lit’l Fishie Perch and Lit’l Fishie Shad
Often as anglers we see a lure in a package and think to ourselves that lure is going to catch fish, I just know it. Well take a look at the Lit’l Fishie Perch and Lit’l Fishie Shad in the package. What do you think? Yep, they look like fish are going to bite them. Guess what? They do! Not to surprising since the original Lit’l Fishie has caught millions of fish over the years. They have the identical unique swimming action that the Lit’l Fishie has as it is reeled in.
The Lit’l Fishie Shad comes in two sizes allowing anglers to match the hatch. This is important because some trips out fishing, it seems like fish refuse to bite any lure that is too big or small. The smaller 2-inch Lit’l Fishie Shad is great for when fish are biting on those little bait fish. It can be casted long ways on spinning gear for schooling fish. When fishing for schooling fish, the Lit’l Fishie Shad can be fished three ways including: casted out and burned back in making a wake just under the surface, reeled in quickly then stopped allowing it to sink similar to a dying baitfish, or casted out and allowed to sink to the depth the baitfish are holding at and reeled back in slowly. The bigger Lit’l Fishie Shad is also a great lure in the fall because the baitfish have gotten bigger during the summer months. Areas that are productive during the fall months are flats and pockets close to the main river channel. In the later months of summer baitfish will migrate towards the back of major feed creeks and Lit’l Fishie. The lifelike shape of the Lit’l Fishie Shad also makes it a great choice for catching bass when shad are spawning around boat docks. The key is to cast it parallel to the encapsulated floats and inside the stalls.
The Lit’l Fishie Perch also comes in two sizes the Lit’l Fishie Shad comes in. The smaller size can be used any time of year, but it is extremely effective in the early spring when bass are spawning. Just cast the Lit’l Fishie Perch into or just past a bed that has a bass on it preparing to spawn. Depending on how aggressive the bass is it may attack the Lit’l Fishie as it sinks downward into the bed; if not, just begin to slowly reel in.
Sometimes the sudden movement will provoke the bass into striking it. After the female has deposited its eye, perch will feed on them. During this period try casting out the Lit’l Fishie Perch and reeling it into a bed then pausing it allowing the nose of the lure to dive down. This makes it look like the Lit’l Fishie Perch is eating the egg and bass will attack it to protect its eggs. Lit’l Fishie Perch is also an effective lure to fish with directly after the spawn when the male bass are protecting fry. Males will aggressively attack any fish that attempt to get close or eat fry. Perch are notorious for fry eaters and bass will often kill any that swim to close to their fry.
The Lit’l Fishie Perch and Shad are finesse style swimbaits that can catch fish year round. Its innovative tail with two fins make it look lifelike when retrieve. Yeah, they look like you can catch fish on them and you know what? They do!
