Pitching and Flipping the YUM F2 Wooly Bug
I love to pitch and flip Texas rigged soft plastics. Nothing can compare to pitching and flipping in and around thick cover in anticipation of that thump. It’s challenging to make a lure fit into a tight space and big oversized soft plastics are not appropriate. No, an angler really needs a small, compact soft plastic lure. The YUM F2 Wooly Bug fits in that category. A compact lure that can fit into tight spaces yet catch big bass.

When anglers think of pitching and flipping, they usually think of wood and grass. Both of these types of cover are great places to pitch and flip. The tackle anglers typically use is heavy action rods and high speed quality reels lined with fluorocarbon line or braid. These two techniques require big, strong, heavy duty hooks that will not bend when the angler lays into a bass in heavy cover.
The YUM F2 Wooly Bug (www.lurenet.com) comes in 3 1/4-inches or 4 1/4-inches. Color options include bama bug, big O craw, black blue shadow, green pumpkin, junebug, PB&J, red shad, watermelon red flake, and a number of other popular color patterns for catching bass.
When pitching and flipping it’s important for the bass to hold on to your bait. One way to increase how long a bass holds on to a lure is to add scent or select a lure that has scent imbedded into it. The YUM F2 Wooly Bug is infused with F2. F2 is a new water base attractant that has been proven 30% more effective than the other national leading brand of soft plastic lures by Mississippi State University. That equals more bites and more importantly bass will hold on to the lure longer for a better hook up ratio.

Pitching and flipping requires casting skill to place a lure in tight spaces without making a big splash; in addition to having the right combination of weight, fishing line, lure size, and color of lure. If you don’t have the right combination the bass won’t bite your lure, but if you have the right combination you will get that thump.
