Spro Bronzeye Frog: Bob That Head Mr. Frog
Bob that head, aahh… yeah, yeah. Tricked out frog with a specially designed, double 3/0 extra wide gap Gamakatsu hook that fist the bait perfectly for one rock-hard hook up, seven sweet color, bob that head, cruising across the thickest, nastiest cover on the lake swinging his head back and forth. He is looking for a fish with the biggest, meanest bass in the lake. Poppin’, Chuggin’, spittin’ water, feel that rhythm; bob that head Mr. Frog. Now he is cruising, bob that head, Mr. Frog, bring it on, let the party begin, bring it on Mr. Big Bass.
Only one angler takes frog fishing to a level unattainable by most angles, Bassmaster Elite Series Pro dean Rojas from Lake Havasu, Arizona. Rojas can make a Spro Bronzeye Frog (http://www.spro.com/) look more alive than a breathing frog. His Signature Series Bronzeye Frog 65 and Bronzeye Frog Jr. are now jointed by the innovative Spro Bronzeye Pop. Together, Rojas and Spro designed the Bronzeye Pop, so the body of the bait could collapse when a bass would strike it; along with having a cupped face allowing it to make loud popping sounds. Ever Bronzeye Pop comes with a specially designed 3/0 Extra Wide Gap Double Gamakatsu hook. Rojas explained, “The popping frog can be used over matted vegetation, in cheese or floating algae, around boat docks, up against the bank, and has a completely different action and commotion,” he continued, “it can also be fished off points in clear water reservoirs”. When fishing with the Bronzeye Pop Rojas suggested, “Angers should work it really fast, if a bass wants a frog they will come and get it, but if they get strikes without hooking up to try changing colors”.
As for which color Bronzeye Pop or Frog to use, Rojas recommended dark colors, black or browns for low light conditions, such as, early morning, late evening, or cloudy days; he advised white or green patterns on bright days. The Bronzeye Pop comes in seven colors and Bronzeye Frogs are available in five new color patterns. Rojas stated that he changes very little once he takes a Bronzeye out of the package to fish; although, few medications can be done, anglers can trim a quarter or half-inch of the skirt or slightly open the gap of the hook.

When fishing the Bronzeye Pop or Bronzeye Frogs, Rojas uses a Quantum Tour Edition Dean Rojas Signature Series Rod model PTC706FDR. This rod was designed for frog fishing in aquatic vegetation or skipping frogs into the thickest cover on the lake. He combines this rod with a Quantum Tour Edition “Burner” 7.0:1 gear ratio spooled with 65-pound Izorline, In fact, he emphasized that a key component to hooking and landing bass on a frog was using 65-pound Izorline braid.
Yeah, bob that head Mr. Frog. Feels real good; poppin’, chuggin’, spittin’ water, feel that rhythm. Bring it on, let the party begin, bring it on big bass.
