    Accent Scooter Jigs

I love to reminisce about catching big bass; nothing can beat explaining to your fishing buddies how you battled the big-un to the boat and quickly took a photo with your Blackberry before releasing it.

    Swim Jigs Rule River Bass

    Author: Brad Wiegmann

Swim Jigs by Brovarney BaitsApparently, someone’s spreading the word out to other anglers about the fish catching abilities of swim jigs.  What was once a well kept secret, mostly by northern anglers, has slowly crept into southern anglers tackle boxes.  For bass anglers, the swim jig’s versatility and big bass appeal can not be overlooked in river systems and northern or southern reservoirs.

While numerous swim jigs are available for anglers to purchase, only one has the reputation of being the best.  Brovarney Baits are known throughout the northern states for their individual pored and hand tied skirts.  The owner, Dan Brovarney, began making these swim jigs to meet his oldest son’s request for a swim jig that did not roll on its side when retrieved.  After experimenting, Brovarney designed his swim jig that anglers can now purchase.

    BustinBass Not Your Daddy’s Spinnerbait

    Author: Brad Wiegmann

Few, if any, new innovative fishing lures are ever made.  The majority of “new” lures are just resized or regurgitated lures already being produced.  They are made to catch anglers and not fish.  For BustinBass lures, it was going against the traditional way of thinking that sets them apart from the other spinnerbait manufactures.  In a revolutionary move, BustinBass has turned their back on the old, traditional two-dimensional spinnerbait to produce a new three-dimensional spinnerbait with “multi-wire spinnerbait technology”.  Without a doubt, it’s not your daddy’s spinnerbait.

Naked Bait Co. Facing their Giants

    Author: Brad Wiegmann

Naked Bait Co. Skirt ExpanderIn the fishing industry, a thousand new companies start up each year.  Every single company believes they have lures or fishing equipment that anglers will purchase.  A hot new bait or fishing tool with a pro staff other companies would envy.  Then all you need is a catchy name for your company and product.  Some of my favorite:  Flappy Daddy by Gambler, Big Show by YUM, Little Peety by BassHunter Custom Crankbits, or Dump Truck Jigs endorsed by Hank Cherry.  Now, I have a new one, Naked Bait Co Skirt Expander.  The name of the company alone makes you stop, then add Skirt Expander to the mix and you have a winner.

Bass Fishing Technique:Fish Grass for Lunker Bass with BASSMASTER Elite Angler Chad Griffin

    Author: Brad Wiegmann

    Ezee Jigs for grass fishing

The dog days of summer have arrived producing soaring temperatures and limited rainfall in most of the south.  Although some anglers have become reclusive only coming out at night, others have chose to join the ranks of other anglers fishing grass beds or aquatic vegetation for lunker bass.  Anglers need to look no farther than a near by river or reservoir to find some type of aquatic vegetation to flip or pitch into.

Productive grass fishing requires specific rods, reels, line, and lures.  There is no place for spinning rods, delicate line, or small lures.  Grass fishing equals power fishing.  When grass fishing anglers should be armed with a 7 ½ -foot extra heavy fishing pole, a fast 6:1 or  7:1 high speed bait casting reel, and 25 pound fluorocarbon or 80 pound braided fishing line.chad griffin side image
