River2Sea_Whopper_PlopperAnglers have some of the world’s greatest imaginations. They are always dreaming up new, innovative lures to catch fish. Some will end up in a tackle box never to catch a fish while others like the River2Sea Whopper Plopper has developed a devoted legion of anglers that fish with them every day.

River2Sea Whopper Plopper lures (www.river2seausa.com) are not for the faint-of-heart. Truth is you might want to check with a doctor before going out casting with the River2Sea Whopper Plopper.  They simply agitate the biggest and meanest fish into striking them.

Few anglers have caught as many big fish as Larry Dahlberg. Larry Dahlberg is the host of the Hunt for Big Fish on the Versus TV network. His job, if you can call it that, is to go out in search of big fish and catch them.

He is also the angler behind the design of the River2Sea Whopper Plopper. It all began when Dahlberg caught his first musky over 50 years ago on a similar built lure. That event changed his life, but also gave him the desire to design and make what is now the River2Sea Whopper Plopper.

Like any lure. If it doesn’t catch fish no one is going to buy a second or third one.

So, Dahlberg worked to fine tune the River2Sea Whopper Plopper until it was perfect. If Dahlberg liked it, you know that fish were going to like it.

A key component of the River2Sea Whopper Plopper is the tail. It’s not like most tails that wiggle back and forth. The tail on the River2Sea Whopper Plopper spins around creating a buzzing noise that attracts fish.

An angler doesn’t have to install the tail on to the River2Sea Whopper Plopper. It comes ready to fish out of the box. Its tail is made with an extremely hard plastic core that has a soft, pliable tip.

Every tail is sized to match the size of the River2Sea Whopper Plopper body. They have a distinct curve similar to a prop that slices through the water creating a buzzing sound.

As the tail spins around the sound from that movement gives off a low or high frequency pitch depending on how fast the lure is being retrieved. That’s great because fish want a loud fast moving lure some days and other days a quieter, slower running lure.

River2Sea Whopper Plopper’s are available in either the 190 or 130 model. The larger River2Sea Whopper Plopper 190 weighs 2.75-ounces and measures 7½-inches in length. It features two River2Sea black nickel long shank 4X strong #5/0 hooks.

The River2Sea Whopper Plopper 130 is the smaller version of the 190. It weighs almost 1.50-ounces and measures 5-inches long. The two River2Sea black nickel long shank 4X strong #3/0 hooks.

Each of the River2Sea Whopper Plopper models come in a number of different color patterns to match the forage on your lakes.

River2Sea_Whopper_PlopperEither size model sold of the River2Sea Whopper Plopper can be used to catch big fish. If you are catching big fish here is a tip that will assist in the fish staying alive. Take off the front hook and replace it with one two hook sizes bigger than remove the rear hook all together. That will keep the hooks from gut hooking a big fish when they strike or try to eat the lure.

Two other features of the River2Sea Whopper Plopper include super strong body and flexible tail. The super strong body includes a high quality hinge that will not break even on the biggest muskie. The flexible tail is made with hard enough material.

It’s an easy lure to fish. Just cast out and reel back in. The excitement starts when a big fish gets on the end of your line.
