Warrior Flutter and Little Warrior Spoon by Warrior Lures

    Author: Brad Wiegmann |

Warrior Flutter SpoonI will have you; oh, I will have you. I will find a way to have you and fishing with you. Whoa, I will have you to fish with. I have no control. You are my obsession; my passion. Anglers are becoming more and more obsessed with spoons for fishing. They want to fish with every kind and style available. Although spoons have been around for years, the demand for flutter spoons has exploded. Some of this demand is a direct link from tournament anglers winning tournaments. To meet this demand, Warrior Lures has designed their own line of flutter spoons with a unique profile and action.

The Warrior Flutter and Little Warrior Spoon by Warrior Lures (www.warriorlures.com or Phone: (231)421-3372) are just two of the spoons they manufacture. Both of these spoons are designed with three bends into the shape. “Our Flutter and Little Warrior spoons are just the right size and shape to catch anything that swims like smallmouth, white fish, pike, steelhead, king salmon, and walleye just to name a few,” said Mike Steefes, President of Warrior Lures. The Warrior Flutter and Little Warrior Spoon was designed to be trolled on a free or flat line, crawler harness, bottom bouncer, lead line, lead cord line, copper line, down riggers, or with an inline sinker. “The Warrior Flutter and Little Warrior spoons are ready to fish right out of the package; you don’t have to bend or adjust it. It has a very thin profile and can be trolled extremely slow if you want to. These lures are speed tolerant and can be trolled at .8- to 1-mph up to 7-mph and get the same action,” said Steefes. Both of the spoons have the same left to right rolling action compared to other spoons with the cup or bend in the tail section with a back and forth action.

The Warrior Flutter and Little Warrior spoons are a favorite among walleye, lake trout, and other game fish anglers. Walleye anglers will rig the spoons on a crawler harness, bottom bouncer, lead line, or inline sinkers; in addition to free lining them on inline planner boards early in the year in super shallow water. “In April or March, we will get on shallow banks maybe only 2- or 3-feet deep and troll Warrior Flutter or Little Warrior spoons at 1.5- to 1.6-mph. The walleye just eat them up that time of year shallow,” said Steefes.

The Warrior Flutter Spoon measures 3 3/8-inches and available in gold, silver, and copper finish; Little Warrior spoon measures 2 1/4-inches and available in gold, silver, and copper. Although the spoon design and action is impressive, the available paint patterns and custom painting is what really separates Warrior Spoons from other spoon manufactures. To have your Warrior Spoons custom painted you provide them with a detailed description, artwork or sample of your pattern along with which spoon size and finish to use. You must order at least six spoons of your custom pattern in the same size and spoon. Custom orders do take a little longer to ship, but worth it since you get exactly what you want. The Warrior Flutter and Little Warrior Spoons are also available in the Lance Valentine’s Signature Series. All of the spoons in this Little Warrior Spoonseries were designed by Lance Valentine (www.walleyekid.com) and extremely productive for walleye in various conditions and locations. All Flutter and Little Warrior spoons are brass blanks plated in gold, silver or copper except for the back that’s available in silver only. The Flutter and Little Warrior spoons have a split ring on the hook end. Every Little Warrior spoon has a Mustad Triple Grip treble hook.

Flutter spoons have come a long ways from what anglers had in the past. Dull colors or limited color patterns made spoons unattractive to anglers, but that has all changed with new painting technology. Anglers can even have their favorite Warrior flutter spoon painted to a specific color pattern. Are flutter spoons your obsession? If they are just consider yourself part of a growing group of anglers who love to fish with flutter spoons.
