Laker Taker by Bay de Noc Lure Company

Laker Taker SpoonHey, what I like about you; what I like about you is your action. Yeah, what I like about you is the way you dance in the water; what I like about you is the way you flutter even at the slowest speeds. That’s what I like about you. That’s what I like about The Swedish Pimple Laker Taker spoon and Flutter Laker Taker spoon.

The Swedish Pimple Laker Taker spoon and Flutter Laker Taker spoon (www.baydenoclure.com) can be trolled or casted depending on fishing conditions. Both of them have a unique action that game fish find irresistible. Although similar in profile, the Laker Taker and Flutter Laker Taker are two different spoons when it comes to action. The Laker Taker has a thicker diameter measuring .062 (brass) while the Flutter Laker Taker is made with .020 spring brass. Besides thickness both have their own unique shape.

The Laker Taker spoon is renowned for catching big limits of trout, salmon, coho, northern pike, and bass. The heavier of the two spoons, the Laker Taker spoon measures 4-inches and weights ¾-ounces, but that extra weight allows it to be trolled or retrieved at a slow to moderate speed. When fishing for northern pike or salmon it’s better to use a fast retrieve or troll it quicker. For coho that keep to the upper water column, normally around the top 50 feet, anglers should keep the Laker Taker in that strike zone. Anglers will usually fish with a swiveled trolling lead or sliding trolling sinker 4 feet in front of the lure. The heavier Laker Taker can easily be casted to schooling fish or vertically jigged near or under the boat. Schooling fish like largemouth, smallmouth, spotted, white, hybrid, and striped bass can be seen from long distances and casted effortlessly. Always cast past the schooling bass and work the Laker Taker spoon in to the school. Begin by retrieving quickly skipping the Laker Taker spoon across the surface. If the bass refuse these retrieves change up the presentation; try casting it out then swimming it back in allowing it to flutter ever so often. The dying action is usually too much for a bass to stand and will attack it as it slowly flutters downward. If the bass are not schooling on the surface, but can be seen on the sonar unit anglers should drop their spoon within striking distance of the fish while dropping and lowering their spoon letting it flutter downwards. Again most strikes will happen while the spoon is fluttering downwards.

Flutter Laker Taker SpoonThe Flutter Laker Taker spoon’s overall lightweight and sharp bend near the treble hook makes it perfect for trolling extremely slow without effecting their fluttering action. These spoons are commonly used for fishing for lake trout, Chinooks, coho and big walleyes. The Flutter Laker Taker spoon is available in 1/5-ounces measuring 3-inches (70mm), 1/5-ounces measuring 3½-inches (80mm) or 1/4-ounces measuring 4-inches (90mm). Rebending is often necessary with the Flutter Laker Taker Spoon when catching heavy fish with them. Take note of the original shape of the spoon and its action when you first take it out of the box and form it back into that shape.Flutter Laker Taker Spoon

The Laker Taker spoon comes in nickel-plated, gold tone anti-tarnish lacquer dip, or painted white pearl finishes and a variety of color patterns. The Flutter Laker Taker spoon comes in nickel plated, black nickel plated, silver plated, painted white pearl, or buffed brass with a special anti-tarnish lacquer or copper. It comes in 65 color choices in each size spoon.

The Flutter Laker Taker and Laker Taker spoons have a unique action that catches all kinds of game fish. Hey, that’s what I like about you; you really know how to dance and flutter. That’s what I like about the Flutter Laker Taker and Laker Taker spoons.
