    Rebel Frog-R a Real Prince

    Author: Brad Wiegmann

Rebel Frog-RI hear of anglers kissing their fish, but what about their lures. I guess someone down at Rebel Lures got the same idea with a lure, kissed it and ended up not with a prince, but a frog. That’s the only explanation I can come up with on how they ended up with the super realistic Rebel Frog-R. This isn’t your run of the mill hollow body frog either. It’s a hard body frog with the shape and color patterns that will fool any fish in to thinking it’s the real thing.

Top 3 Crankbait Fishing Tips by Bomber Lures Pro Ben Parker

    Author: Brad Wiegmann

Bassmaster Elite Angler Ben ParkerThere is no other lake like it in the world. Kentucky Lake runs hard and fast from the Tennessee boarder to the Kentucky Dam. This hydroelectric dam on the Tennessee River is just one of nine dams on the river that’s owned and operated by the Tennessee Valley Authority’s (TVA). It covers over 160,000 acres and has a canal that connects it to Lake Barkley on the Cumberland River. Both of these reservoirs have numerous ledges that hold large schools of bass and other game fish. Few lures can catch as many fish as a crankbait off these ledges, but how can you catch more fish on a crankbait on these ledges? Professional Bassmaster Elite Angler Ben Parker has been catching bass off these ledges with crankbaits for years and gives these three tips for cranking Kentucky Lake ledges.

Foil Finished JawJacker Custom Built Balsa Wood Crankbaits

    Author: Brad Wiegmann

JawJacker Lures with Foil FinishCraftsmanship can be measured by the end results of the product they produce. Nowhere is that more true than when it comes to the craftsmen that build custom balsa wood crankbaits. Imperfections are quickly spotted and only the best end up in anglers tackle boxes. Not only must a custom balsa wood crankbait track right it’s got to have the right shape and bill design; in addition to the right color pattern or finish.

One finish becoming more and more popular among anglers buying custom balsa wood crankbaits is a foiled finish. To keep up with demand, JawJacker Lures has released their foiled series of crankbaits in new foiled finish color patterns.

Rebel Lures Ready to Celebrate 50 Years 1962-2012

    Author: Brad Wiegmann

REBEL LuresSince making that first Rebel Lure in 1962 things have changed significantly. Rebel Lures started out making minnows out of “space age polymer” plastic when all the other lure companies were still building them from balsa wood or metal. It was George Perrin’s vision to build these technological advanced lures 50 years ago. Since then other lure companies have come and gone while Rebel Lures continued to design and build new lures like the Frog-R and Crappie Crank-R; in addition to keeping some of the old favorites and most popular lures like the Pop-R and Rebel Minnow.
