Author: Brad Wiegmann
What would you rather cast; a super-realistic looking crawfish with an exoskeleton body or one that just has a flat looking crawfish pattern on it? Maybe the real question is which one do you think the fish are going to bite? The realistic looking Bomber Model A Real Craw or a fake imitation without the exoskeleton body? I’m guessing the Real Craw. The Model A Real Craw by Bomber Lures is a series of lures that have an exoskeleton finish giving them an unique texture; in addition to having raised, blood-red crustacean eyes that are positioned at the end of the lure giving it a realistic appearance. Don’t take this the wrong way, but fly fishermen can be put into two clique groups of anglers. The traditionalist with a purist mentality who believes that a true fly fisherman would only fish with dry flies while the progressive believe you use whatever fly catches fish, no matter if it’s a dry fly or wet. The progressive fly fishermen are similar to bass anglers in that sense. Bass anglers will use any technique or lure to catch fish. It only makes sense. Fish cannot be caught using the same dry fly or casting in one spot day after day. Read more on Kelly Galloup flies... The Shad Swimbait by ABT Lures a Beast of Swimbaits
Author: Brad Wiegmann
Have you ever casted a beast of swimbaits out on your local lake? I mean a swimbait that seeks out bass to hook. A swimbait that catches fish anywhere you go, any time, any lake. Of course it would have to have to be about 4-inches long and have the profile of an adult threadfin shad; in addition to having 3-D eyes, premium hooks and one awesome realistic paint job. Not only that, but have lifelike action that would attract bass. That beast of a lure would be the ABT Shad Swimbait. Read more on the ABT Shad Swimbait... |
Real, Really Real, Real Gill
Author: Brad Wiegmann
Did I happen to mention that the Real Gill Xr50 Series of lures by XCalibur Lures looks really real? I mean real! Just like any common bluegill or panfish that is swimming in your local fishing hole. Think about it for a minute. Bass and other predators love to eat what? That’s right, forage that swims by and gets to close. Bass love cover like boat docks and brush piles. Bluegill and panfish hide around docks and brush piles. It’s better than takeout. “Honey, should we go out to eat?” says one bass to another hiding under the shade of a boat dock. “Why, we have all we can eat right here at home; I think, I will have me a Longear with a Pumpkinseed for dessert,” replies the other bass. You get the point and now you have a lure that really looks like what they eat.

One long cast and it lands with authority. Large swimbaits rarely land quietly. After a couple quick turns of the reel handle the swimbait quickly comes up towards just below the surface making a gentle wake. The fast pace makes the swimbait’s tag wag back and forth resembling a live shad ripping across the surface. Its main body rocks moderate in effort to keep up. Without warning a giant spotted bass pounces on it almost ripping the rod and reel from the angler’s firm grip. Incredible, the angler was catching spotted bass on a hard swimbait in clear water? One more cast and a big largemouth inhales it. Okay, that’s not so usual, but the next cast into the school hooks a nice size striper. There is something to this swimbait that fish love. Maybe it’s the tail wag? Read more on the ABT Wag Tail... The Ultimate Flutter Spoon by Nech Wilderness

If you can’t get no…satisfaction with other spoons and you have tried, and tried, and tired other spoons, but still no satisfaction; no satisfaction atall then it’s time for you to fish with the Nech Wilderness spoon. Unlike other popular flutter spoons, the Nech Wilderness spoon was designed to slowly flutter backwards imitating injured or dying forage; other flutter spoons are heavy and drop quickly to the bottom with little action. Not only is the action different, the 14K Gold finish the Nech Wilderness flutter spoon reflects light creating a flash that is irresistible to fish.
