Postcard Pool with your Host Wanda Taylor takes you to North Georgia and to the Cannon Falls Lodge where Georgia fly fishing guide Becky Strain assist our host in landing a large brown trout at Cannon Falls.  Having years of experience fishing small streams for trout, Strain explains what flies and tactics are product for shallow water nymphing.  The action is amazingly fast in each of the small pools that Taylor is fishing as the two ladies put on a clinic on fishing in shallow water streams.

In the fly tying segment, expert fly tier Metrela Brown shows in detail on how to assemble a fly called “Fire and Ice”.  This fly can be used as an attractor or small nymph.  Materials used to make the fly: Hook-12-18-2x Nymph, Head-Peacock Glass Bead, Tail-Golden Pheasant Tippets, Body-Peacock Herl, Rib-Fine Copper Wire, Hackle-Blue Peacock Neck Feather.

In the “How To” segment, expert fly angler and guide Davy Wotton with the assistance of fly fishing expert Gary Taylor, Port St. Joe, Florida as they explain the basics to fishing wet flies in the traditional method.  What is traditional wet fly fishing?  It is how the fly fishermen of the British Isles and Ireland fished for trout in river, streams, lakes and locks.  Wotton from Flippin, Arkansas, goes into detail on how to and where to fish for trout using this method with multiple flies.
