Fly Fishing the White River below Bull Shoals Dam with Davy Wotton
Are you going trout fishing below Bull Shoals Dam on the White River? How would you like to actually see all the access points, get navigational tips, learn the characteristic of the river, find out what the top strategies are for catching trout, and get angling techniques you can use to catch more and bigger trout from a fly fishing expert with years of experience on the White River? You can will the new DVD White River with Davy Wotton Fly Fishing Arkansas’ White River from Bull Shoals Dam to Calico Rock from Fly Fish TV (www.flyfishtv.com). Expert fly angler, Davy Wotton (www.davywotton.com), who has a fly fishing school and a professional guide on the White River takes the viewer on an extensive float trip down the river.
The DVD White River with Davy Wotton is broken down into chapters that are actually sections of the White River. This allows the angler to watch all or one particular section of the White River. Wotton breaks the sections into the Bull Shoals Dam area, State Park to Cotter, Cotter to Buffalo Shoals, Buffalo City to Norfork, North Fork River, and Norfork to Calico Park. All of the chapters go into detail on access points, angling opportunities, wading and boating fishing water profiles, shoal descriptions, navigation tips, strategies and angling techniques. Other chapters in the DVD White River with Davy Wotton include Fly Selection “Wet Flies & Soft Hackles”, “Dry Flies”, “Midges”, and “Streamer Flies”. In those chapters, Wotton explains what flies to fish with and when to use them to catch trout. Note: This information was passed on to me from a reader. The river structure has changed drastically due to flooding in 2007-2008; however, I feel the sections on the DVD that explains about how to catch trout, flies to fish with below a dam, where access points are located, and other topics covered on trout fishing still has value to the viewers. Please don’t rely on this DVD as a source of navigational aid since current is constantly changing the tailwater.
