ICAST 2012 Wrap-up
It’s been a long three days at ICAST where everyone in the fishing industry was gathered together. For exhibitors it was a chance to get exposure of their new products. For buyers it was a time to purchase new fishing tackle and related items for their stores. On the other hand, media got to check out possible story ideas and visit with professional anglers who help assist with lure, rod and reels, tackle, accessories and other fishing related booths.

My goal as editor of www.bradwiegmann.com and a freelance outdoor writer was to search out new products and find possible story content while sharing contact information. It’s one of the most important events of the year. The majority content that I end up putting on my web site comes from ICAST. Even if I don’t get face to face time, I can get contact information to visit or
interview manufactures and professional anglers at a later time.
This year show confirmation my assumption that it was going to be spectacular for the media. No one can denial the effects that social media and internet is having on ICAST or the fishing industry. You can expect Facebook pages to be buzzing with excitement as new stories about products for the following couple weeks. On the internet, you can expect award winning fishing web sites like www.bradwiegmann.com to bring you articles about the newest and latest products.
