FLW Tour Tournament Day Three on Beaver Lake

    Author: Brad Wiegmann

Flw Tour Beaver Lake It may have been a bluebird day out on Beaver Lake in northwest Arkansas, but you would have thought it was raining cats and dogs with all the umbrella out. The umbrellas weren’t to keep anglers dry, but to catch quality bass which can be challenging some days just ask a number of FLW professional anglers that bombed the second day of the FLW Tour tournament on Beaver Lake. As expected, anglers were slinging, lobbing and pitching the multi-lure rig or castable umbrella rig aka the Alabama Rig

The castable umbrella rig is dominating the top 20 anglers lure selection. A few anglers are keeping up only fishing with a single lure. Although they didn’t say what lure you know a wiggle wart has to been one and everyone knows that Jimmy Houston is fishing a BOOYAH spinnerbait.

FLW Tour Tournament Day One Beaver Lake

    Author: Brad Wiegmann

FLW Tour Beaver Lake Travis FoxWeather and lure selection are definitely influenced anglers on day one of the FLW Tour event on Beaver Lake. As I expected, the multi-lure rig aka Alabama Rig has sway the majority of anglers to fish the middle to dam area of the reservoir leaving the river arms void of FLW pros. It’s a do or die situation; if you don’t throw it than other anglers are fishing it could easily weigh more fish if the bass are biting on it.

You would have never known that there was a FLW Tour bass tournament going on standing at point 12 this morning. In the first hour less than a handle full came up to fishing in the river. In fact, I counted two. Yep, only two boats. That means 168 FLW pros had decided to fish the middle and dam area of the lake.

    Author: Brad Wiegmann

Meet the Pros 2013 Over 1,000 anglers were challenged to elevate their fishing skills to another level last night at the John Q. Hammons convention center last night by Darrel Robertson, Greg Bohannan, Mark Rose, Glenn Chappelear and keynote speaker Scott Martin. Anglers were also challenged to take action and accept Jesus into their lives. Blessed through sharing knowledge of fishing and testimonies every angler attending left the event as a winner; some angler changed forever with accepting Christ into their lives.

Before the keynote speaker FLW pro Scott Martin addressed the anglers, FLW professional anglers Darrel Robertson, Greg Bohannan and Mark Rose gave seminars on fishing.

Bassmaster Classic Champion 2013 Cliff Pace Cliff Pace has done something that is rarely seen in sports today. Pace won the 2013 Bassmaster Classic Championship with honor. No narcissist signs of yelling or screaming about being number one, but humble and confident competitor showing the etiquette of a Bushido warrior.

Pace was not looking to create or establish himself as a marketing icon in the fishing world. No need. His peers know of his warrior like attitude and winning ways.

FLW Tour Tournament Day Four on Beaver Lake

    Author: Brad Wiegmann

FLW Tour Beaver Lake There were no surprises in this tournament except for Scott Suggs and Anthony  Gagliardi weighing in sacks of big smallmouth. As expected, the multi-lure rig, castable umbrella rig aka the Alabama Rig played a dominate force in this FLW Tour tournament on Beaver Lake. In the end, Jason Christie lobbed a YUM Flash Mob Jr. to win the event

The top ten cut consist of Jason Christie, Brandon Coulter, Shawn Murphy, Koby Kreiger, Scott Suggs, Anthony Gagliardi, Mark Rose, Barry Wilson, Stacy King and Jim Dillard.

Christie is fishing the castable umbrella rig and so are many of the other anglers. Coulter only has three rods on his deck all rigged with castable umbrella rigs. Coulter stated that it was the only lure that he was going to fish with and it was either going to win him the tournament or cost him winning the tournament.

FLW Tour Tournament Day Two Beaver Lake

    Author: Brad Wiegmann

FLW Tour Beaver Lake Day One by one the leading anglers in the FLW Tour Tournament openly admitted to fishing with multi-lure rig or castable umbrella rigs aka Alabama Rig to catch their fish on. On a few anglers were able to use a single lure to catch and keep up with the Alabama Rig. Not surprisingly, anglers fishing in this year’s tournament on Beaver Lake were catching them.

Many of the anglers had decided that they were only going to fishing with the Alabama Rig all day long. Win fishing it or get beat by not fishing it was the attitude toward fishing with it.

Bass Fishing Riot on Beaver Lake in FLW Tournament

    Author: Brad Wiegmann

FLW Boats Jimmy Houston I get the feeling there is going to be a riot on Beaver Lake these next four days. Deep points and bluff ends will be key areas along with staging areas are going to be under siege with prolong period of angler casting over and over with multi-lure rigs. It’s possible that the angler that wins the event will be fishing with one, however, it make take more than just a multi-lure rig to win it all.

Anglers love or hate multi-lure rigs, castable umbrella rigs or Alabama rigs, but going into the FLW Tour event it’s on every anglers mind. It’s a force. It’s a freak of nature that can dominate a tournament and especially a tournament being held early in the year on highland reservoirs.
