Do you love smallmouth bass fishing? You should join the Missouri Smallmouth Alliance. They are a group of anglers that not only love to fish for smallmouth bass, but also a conservative oriented organization working to improve the quality of smallmouth fishing and look after Missouri smallmouth streams. You don’t even have to live in Missouri to be a member of this organization; only a desire to be part of a solution to improve the quality of smallmouth fishing and learn more about fishing for smallmouth bass.

A 1-year membership to the Missouri Smallmouth Alliance has its privileges and benefits including:
    • Receiving 6 issues of Bronzeback News, a bi-monthly newsletter with information on outings, current events, articles on fishing for smallmouth, destination pieces, and other informative articles.
    • A copy of Chuck Tryon’s 200 Missouri Smallmouth Adventures with over 300 pages of smallmouth bass fishing information.
    • 1 year of Outdoor Guide Magazine and 3 months of River Hills Traveler.
    • Membership in Stream Team 509.
    • Opportunities to learn how experienced anglers’ fish Missouri streams for smallmouth.
    • Fish outings like the Ozark Rodeo or Spotted Bass Roundup.
    • Access to Missouri Smallmouth Alliance forum.

Missouri Smallmouth Alliance is a passionate group of smallmouth anglers that started back in 1992. Their goal was to work together to improve the quality of smallmouth through conservation efforts and education. Their mission statement is: Through volunteerism, to assist in the creation, promotion and maintenance of world class Smallmouth Bass habitat and fishing in Missouri and to educate the public as to the importance of and the significance of catch and release fishing for Smallmouth Bass everywhere. The club holds their meetings on the third Wednesday of the month at the MDC’s Powder Valley Nature Center in Kirkwood, Missouri. At the club meetings members go over fishing trip reports, discuss conservation issues, learn new fishing techniques, and hear tips for catching smallmouth bass.

Of course the best part of being a member of Missouri Smallmouth Alliance is fishing.  The club members have a number of outings where members enjoy fishing for smallmouth; in addition to the Spotted Bass Roundup and Ozark Rodeo.

It’s one club that loves to go smallmouth fishing, but has a deep desire to improve the smallmouth fishing through conservation and educational efforts in Missouri.
