Brad Wiegmann’s Top 10 Best Fishing Web Sites

Surfing thru the World Wide Web an angler will find hundreds of web sites about fishing. Some of these are informative, creative web sites with fresh information updated daily while other web sites are simply an accumulation of news feeds sent to them by manufactures or PR companies that requires little creativity and rarely bring new information. When selecting web sites for Brad Wiegmann’s Top 10 Best Fishing Web Sites, I looked at a number of things that make a web site entertaining and informative. Before I go any farther you should know that none of the web sites tried to influence my decisions on which web sites were listed; in fact, none of them even knew there was a list except www.BradWiegmann.com for obvious reasons. Here is the list beginning with the #1 ranked web site…

    Watch Exposed Pros on Tour

    Author: Brad Wiegmann

Go to Exposed Pros on Tour videoNot all exposure is good. A great example of bad exposure is 2004 Super Bowl half time performance which included a 9/16-second exposure of one Janet Jackson’s mannary glands. It was a brief exposure, but Jackson’s right breast became the talk of everyone including the FCC. ProPatterns Exposed Pros on Tour video series shows a lot less skin, but does expose Bassmaster Elite Pros like never before as they prefish during official practice days before a Bassmaster Elite Series tournament. All of the videos in the series are non-scripted. No faking a bad day prefishing; no hiding emotions back; no taking out how these professional anglers approach prefishing. Good or bad; you get to see it all.

B.A.S.S. Bans the Alabama Rig and other Multi-lure Rigs

    Author: Brad Wiegmann

    The Original Alabama Rig

The following is the press release from B.A.S.S. on the One-LLure Rule. How will this influence other tournament circuits? I don't know, but will this be the end of the Alabama Rig or other multi-lure rigs? Not likely. Will FLW follow suit banning it or will they allow the Alabama Rig or other multi-lure rigs in FLW Tour events?

B.A.S.S. Imposes One-Lure Rule For The Bassmaster Classic And Elite Series
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — B.A.S.S., upon the recommendation of its Bassmaster Elite Series Rules Committee, has amended its tournament rules to limit anglers competing in the Bassmaster Classic and Bassmaster Elite Series to the use of a single lure during practice and competition.

    Little Gifts

    Author: Brad Wiegmann

Laken Reil Hines in a Santa suitChristmas is all about the gifts. Some are big; some are small. The best gifts always seem to be the little gifts. Little gifts change our attitudes, beliefs, and hearts. Today, I went out fishing. From my first cast to my last cast it was one of those days where you catch fish everywhere you go even though it rained for most of the day. I didn’t care; I had my rain suit on and it was keeping me dry. The rain suit was a Christmas gift last year. On August 14, 2011, at 1:07 a.m., Laken Reil Hines was born. He weighed in at 5 pounds, 3 ounces and measured 18-inches long. He was a keeper. Laken’s parents, Chris and Debra Hines, couldn’t have asked for a better gift than a child. They couldn’t be more proud; however, Laken was born with some serious health issues.
